Our People
Who the heck are we?
Enough about you - let's talk about us!
Just kidding.
The boring stuff
Yeah, we know, most of us accountants start off our web site or brochure with so much 'fascinating' information about their firm, that it's a wonder that anyone bothers to read beyond it.
So, let's get it over with.
The firm was created by Christopher George in 1996 with the sole intention of helping owner-managed businesses achieve more. It's as simple, yet as complex, as that.
Christopher qualified as a chartered accountant in 1992 and quickly discovered his niche - talking with and helping business owners solve real-life, everyday, business problems. Sure, he does the 'year-end' stuff, but neither you nor he is really interested in that, if the truth be told.
Where you get the true value of working with Chris George and his firm is when you start talking on a regular basis.
Issue like 'How do I pass the company onto my kids?' or 'How much do I need from my bank to cover my cash-flow issues?' and 'Is my present set up the most tax efficient way to run my business?' are where real value comes into play.
These (and others like them) are the key issues that business owners need answers to. And as almost every business is different, guess what? Most clients need different answers to these questions.
The unusual stuff
You probably don't really want an accountant, do you? There. We said it.
That's just one thing about us that makes us unusual, you see, we 'get it'. We understand that when you wake up in the morning the thought of going to your accountant in the afternoon, probably doesn't get you all excited.
You might even compare the feeling you have about it similar to a trip to the dentist.
We would like to change that outlook, and that is why we put this stuff together, because we would like you to change your perspective of your accountant, by changing your accounting firm to us.
The interesting stuff
The Accountant and the Word Processor...
Your relationship with your Accountant, in most cases, can be compared to the use of a word processor. Most people use only a tiny percentage of their word processor's capabilities, and never go beyond that.
Likewise, many businesspeople only use their Accountant for the year-end financial statements and tax return - a tiny fraction of the ways in which a great CPA can help his or her clients.
When we say 'we're different', we mean it.
If you presently sit down with your accountant once a year, talk about the results you achieved, what tax will be due and how much all this is going to cost you in fees, then you're only getting a tiny percentage of what you should be from your relationship with your CPA.
Here's where it gets interesting...
Sure, there is a certain amount of compliance issues that you will need help with each year, that's probably what brought you to us in the first place. With all due respect, you're simply not capable of doing it yourself. But the real benefit of working with an entrepreneurial accountant is when we go beyond the 'necessary evils' of using an accountant.
Planning ahead, projecting cash flow, business planning, raising finance, growing the business and many other issues that can be critical to the success of your business are all areas where we can help, where we can add value and where we can have fun doing it.
The fun stuff
How does making more money sound to you? What about creating realistic, sensible and creative tax strategies to help minimize your tax liability?
We'd say that's about as much fun as you can have at work with your clothes on!
You see, we really love what we do, and it shows. We encourage our team members to have fun at work, and we try to carry that over into how we work with our clients. Why not give us a try and see the difference for yourself?
